Heritage Trust members gather to help with the announcement that Stockport has been awarded £1.8 million pounds of Heritage Lottery money for upgrading and improving Little Underbank.
The Council has added to the grant with match funding so that Little Underbank can be regenerated and once more be a vibrant and exciting shopping experience.
September this year will see the Trust concentrating on Little Underbank for their Heritage Open Day event, which promises to be entertaining and informative.
Stockport Heritage Trust is a charity set up in 1987 to promote and encourage the regeneration of Stockport's heritage. This blog is a forum for news, discussion, and information. If you wish to know more contact us at stockportheritage@gmail.com

Walking Marple Lock
The people of Marple turned out in numbers to walk down into one of the 18th century locks while it is empty for important maintenance.
This rare chance was advertised well and today was the only day to get down into the empty lock and people queued for a chance to walk along the muddy bottom. Something to tell the Grandchildren.
